Re: Summer Ins and Outs
I'll have a go at this; forget the summer of ins and outs. Put a 5 year plan together, because that is what it's going to need.

i) Agree a transfer budge of GBP75m/year, then add 10% year on year. That's based on this year's predicted profit of GBP55m plus players sold. There's some guesswork in that number.

ii) Agree what positions need to be filled NOW. Identify and buy.

iii) Review all players based on age and availability. Confirm sell by/retirement dates and action. My focus would be on anyone over 30.

iv) Conduct skill based assessment of all U-23s/suitability for PL. Make like for like switches with existing PL side; bite the bullet. Out of all our U-23s, how come Rice is the only one to have made it? We've invested a lot in Oxford/Burke/Cullen/Martinez. They could/should be ready made replacements; if not why not?

v) Scout Championship. There are PL players there, and they are cheap. Next level up from our U-23s.

vi) Be ready to spend big on DM/CM/Goalscorers.

Hopefully we'll con Villa into buying him for 10m, recoup the money we spent.

Re: Summer Ins and Outs
Let me tell you what will happen in the summer.

Theywill of course come out with all the old claptrap of how theytried to keep them and the money will be re-invested etc etc but you just watch

Arnautovic - £30+m
Lanzini - £30+m

Both sold. The two daves will then sign 2 players on loan and a further couple of £10-15m deals.

Bet i'm right come the summer

Oh and you forgot Snodgrass.

Should he be given another chance under Moyes?

Re: Summer Ins and Outs
Well no 1 priority will be a no 2 goalkeeper

I'd have Dendoncker and Maddison but doubt now we'd get either.

Shelvey..you having a laugh.

The board will blame the new transfer system they're implementing for the failure to sign anyone and will chuck moyes under the bus.

They apparently offered £10m when he had only played 4 games and 15 was what we were holding out for. If he actual plays well in the second half of the season, that is not huge amount to move.

Re: Summer Ins and Outs
on what planet are we going to get 15m for Oxford?

El Scorchio 1:18 Mon Feb 12

Can't see that either.
Burke and Cullen would probably be looking at the Championship at best as destination. You look at the last window and very few (if any)£5m players going into that league.

For comparison
Tyler Roberts who played pretty regularly in League One for the first half of the year and has smattering of Cup appearances is two years younger went from West Brom to Fulham for Leeds for 2.57m.

Cyrus Christie who is old 25 but was a regular starter in the Championship went across the league for 3.06m.

Adam Forshaw (26) seems to be the closest to 5m moving from Borough to Leeds. 4.59.

That in mind, if we can get 15m for Oxford, who did not look as good as Cullen we should probably take it.

Re: Summer Ins and Outs
They've been here too little time to decide to out Mario (although that might not be our choice), Hugill and Evra (given he was considered good enough to sign, we may as well find out if he is actually now as shit as I suspect).

I would like too see us try and sign Ward-Prowse from Southampton.

El Scorchio 1:19 Mon Feb 12
Re: Summer Ins and Outs
One prediction I have is Hugill out for less than 6 million.

Re: Summer Ins and Outs
Who is going to buy Burke and Cullen for 5 million quid?

We need to keep them anyway- at least for now.

Re: Summer Ins and Outs
You need to add at least £10 - 15m to all of those in fee's.

I said keep him as well, remember. That does not mean he is not over the hill now if we are looking to improve.

Centre back is not an emergency area, either way.
